- Massage Therapy is distinguished from Body work in that A lisenced massage Therapist MUST have an education that meets legal and state requirements in order to get a lisence.Im most progressive states in the union a Massage Therapy Lisence is now needed to legally work on a client. A weekend course or a certificate course usually do not meet MOST state requirements at this time. Be sure you are being worked on by a LMT not someone who couldn't make the grade!
